The HBAA (Hotels Bookings Agents Association), the trade association for the hotel booking agency, apartment and venue community, has announced that Louise Goalen (Head of Venues at Top Banana) has been appointment as Chair for the second consecutive year.
Louise first took up her position as chair in January 2017 after she took over from Leigh Cowlishaw’s reign in 2016. Louise is supported by the HBAA’s Executive committee which comprises both agent and venue members and is made up of the Board of Directors, the venue chair, past and vice chairs and the chairs of sub committees.
“It is an absolute honor to be elected as the chair for the HBAA for a second year running. In 2017 we have seen some great success including introducing new members and developing and strengthening our proposition to a wider audience. The Annual Dinner and Annual Forum were both great successes and gave us the opportunity to network with fellow agent and venue members and address some of the most pertinent and current topics in the industry” comments Louise.
She concludes, “As the HBAA is increasingly being requested as a criterion within corporate tenders, we must continue to develop our proposition and become recognised as a high-profile industry body underpinned by our Code of Practice. The HBAA now has an impressive 223 venues and hotel chains and 83 agents which we look to continue to grow in 2018.”
