At Top Banana we’re committed to nurturing young talent and finding the next generation of design superstars. During June and July, we’re taking on three students from universities across the West Midlands, for placements in our design studio as part of our on-going Design Academy initiative, now in its third successful year.
Driven by our Art Director, Dave Pinches, the Design Academy was set up to nurture young designers and support them to achieve their ambition of working in graphic design. It’s a chance for them to hear professional feedback on their work, to help them understand how to use their portfolios to showcase their skills when talking to prospective employers.
Dave is always looking for ways to help students succeed in the world on graphic design and this initiative allows Top Banana to support people and help them reach their full potential.
“We’re really passionate about getting new and fresh blood through the studio, and as I have previous experience as a lecturer we decided to marry the two worlds. Our aim is always for students to come away excited about the industry and passionate about design.”
Over the next three weeks we will be introducing these fantastic students and will be talking to them about their Top Banana experience; asking how the Design Academy has helped them in bettering their knowledge of design and the industry. So, watch this space as we present you to the future of the creative industries.
