IIP Gold for Top Banana.

We’re proud as punch to tell you we’ve achieved Investors In People (IIP) Gold Accreditation … and with flying colours too! Our assessment report said ours was ‘one of the most notable Gold assessments’ the assessor had ever experienced … praise indeed from such an experienced individual.

Why IIP?

Recognising that our staff are our biggest asset was the motivation for setting out on the IIP path back in 2013 and this latest achievement is the culmination of lots of hard work by everyone here at Top Banana.

Head of Production and Client Services Director, Jade Ball explains: “We require a skill set that’s pretty unique within the industry … a combination of creativity, flawless planning, the ability to really understand clients’ strategic objectives and a willingness to always go the extra mile in everything we do. It’s a big ask, but having people who fit that bill makes us who we are and makes sure we deliver … above and beyond … for our clients every time.”

Going for Gold

The IIP standard provided us with a structure and helped us focus on the right areas across the business. Feedback from our initial assessment was so positive it gave us the confidence to go for gold!

Jade again: “We always set ourselves high standards in everything we do. For us, IIP Gold was recognition of those high standards, both in terms of how we deliver for clients and how we look after and develop our staff. Staff turnover is low, largely due to the very positive culture in the business combined with the way we nurture people and offer plenty of opportunity to grow. We have Accounts Directors who started out as production Executives and CSDs who first joined the company as juniors with no event experience whatsoever. It’s exciting to see people thrive and achieve their ambitions.

Leading from the front

Another area highlighted for particular praise in our assessment report was leadership.

We work with leaders every day and preach a lot about the importance of good leadership comms so we really do have to ‘walk the walk’ on this ourselves.

As we’ve grown, our middle managers have become critical to our business success, so we work hard to support them to be the best they can be so they, in turn, can support their own teams to flourish and grow.

HR Manager Kathryn Ray summed up: “We’re incredibly proud to have been awarded the IIP Gold accreditation. It’s fantastic to be recognised for all our efforts. We can’t take our foot off the pedal though … it’s an ongoing process so we need to stay on our toes and keep improving what we do and how we do it.”
