In December we returned from our first ever Top Banana Incentives FAM Trip in Canada! Over 4 days we took 6 delegates to Whistler and Vancouver for a trip filled with adventure and winter luxury, set in picturesque surroundings.
The Top Banana Incentives FAM has been in the woodwork for some time. Why? An opportunity to showcase what one of our favourite destinations has to offer by making memories for delegates through a mix of adventure and experiences that connect the head and the heart, all in true Top Banana style.
Touching down in Vancouver, the group were whisked away straight up to Whistler and the stunning Four Seasons hotel. The team were greeted with a private chef who served a ‘cook out’ style meal accompanied by local beers and wines, whilst a live performer set the tone for the perfect first evening. By morning however, it was all go into an adventure filled agenda.
The first day was all about seeing Whistler from the skies, kicking off with an adrenaline filled high-wire zipline through the treetops. Delegates were suspended 200m from the ground and flew over some of the most pristine scenery in Whistler. Once back on the ground everyone was whisked away into the skies again, but this time by helicopter – for a tour over the snowy landscape. The highlight? A surprise de-tour for the helicopter to land on top of a glacier. With everyone taking in the breath-taking snow filled landscape, a champagne bottle was popped, and everyone was given time to take in their surroundings in style.
After the group landed, they headed straight into town for lunch– with a twist! Setting off on a culinary walking tour, delegates got to sample some of Canada’s finest produce whilst soaking up the picturesque, chalet style town centre, before a night of well-deserved relaxation.
Day two and the action continued, as delegates set off to explore what Whistler is most famous for – the twin mountains of Whistler and Blackcomb, one of the largest ski resorts in North America. With snowboarding, snow shoeing and skiing on offer, the delegates had the morning to explore the slopes before meeting for a mountain top lunch. It was the perfect way to say goodbye to Whistler, as it was time to head off for the second leg of the trip – Vancouver.
Vancouver is full of culture and unique features that prove why Canadian cities aren’t like anywhere else in the world. The best way to see it? A seaplane across the skyline. Taking to the clouds, they saw Vancouver from above before landing and heading to a Canadian cultural initiation… an ice hockey game! Full of atmosphere, the delegates saw the Vancouver Canucks beat the Buffalo Sabres before returning to their hotel, the Rosewood Georgia, to get ready for a night of fine dining, cocktails and fun.
The final day was all about soaking up surroundings. Granville Island is sat in the middle of Vancouver and is known for its unique public market that stocks everything from fascinating foods to handcrafted products. Delegates experienced the market and tried the local cuisine before having some down time to explore the city and fill their bags with souvenirs, before getting back together to head to the airport and say goodbye to Canada.
It was a picture-perfect trip – the weather behaving as it should, an enthusiastic delegate group who were up for all of our adventures and out of this world service from Air Canada, Four Seasons Whistler, Rosewood Hotel Georgia, Rare Indigo DMC, Vancouver CVB and Tourism Whistler.
SO what’s next? Watch this space! Plans for a seasonal summer FAM are in the pipeline so we can showcase another fantastic destination to delegates in true Top Banana Style.
