At Top Banana, our people are our passion and we work incredibly hard to make sure employees feel valued, welcomed and heard. From raising awareness on mental health in the workplace to our Culture Club committee and Kudos platform, we create an environment where people love coming to work. That’s why we’re so proud to announce that we’ve been recognised for a C&IT Best Places to Work Award for Mental Health.
In May 2018 we signed up to the Time to Change Employer Pledge which specifically looks at Mental Health awareness within the company. As part of this we developed an action plan which was signed off by the Board and Management Team. The initiative was launched and communicated to the whole business and we have followed this up with several in-house activities around mental health that have in turn, implemented mental health as a staple topic of conversation for the business.
This award recognises our efforts, which includes our Line Manager Mental Health Training; mental health online resource bank, several mindfulness workshops that we have hosted for employees and an emotive internal video where bananas shared their own experiences with mental health.

Jemma Peers, Commercial Director comments “Since Mental Health Awareness Week 2018, we’ve been busy implementing new internal initiatives to ensure Top Banana is equipped and educated on mental health issues. It’s incredibly important to us to show that no matter what you suffer with, it will not stop your development or progress, as we as a business will help support you to be the best that you can be. This award cements our dedication to supporting mental health in our workplace and to be recognised by C&IT is an incredibly poignant moment for the company.”
As well as this – Top Banana were positioned in 10th place in the medium agency category of C&IT’s Best Places to Work Awards – just missing out of the overall top 20, being placed at number 22! This is a fantastic addition to our mental health award and a brilliant addition to the awards cabinet.
