WOW. WHAT A YEAR.
We’ve had a super exciting year at Top Banana in 2019, we kicked it off by celebrating our milestone birthday of 20 years, opened a new office in Manchester, continued to grow our team with 10 awesome bananas, welcomed a number of new clients to the family, held our biggest event to date and explored more countries around the world than ever before. But to really top off 2019, we were awarded not just one, but two, Agency of the Year awards. Over the last two decades Top Banana have gone from strength to strength, but we truly believe the last 12 months have been our best yet.
Here’s just a small snapshot of some of our biggest moments of 2019. To all those who have been us along the way – thank you! Together we’ve made this a year to remember.
ADDING TO OUR TROPHY CABINET.
Being awarded C&IT’s UK Agency of the Year was one of our biggest highlights in 2019…. but to then being award EVCOM Agency of the Year too, was just the icing on our 20th birthday cake.
But we didn’t just scoop two Agency of the Year award’s…we were also awarded ‘Internal Communication Event of the Year’ too. We are super proud of the team who worked on and delivered the ‘Best 10’ project for Bacardi’s Senior Leadership Summit. A truly awesome event with outstanding feedback from the client and delegates. We were up against some amazing competition in this category which really does show that this event was a stand-out award winner.
GROWING OUR TEAM.
In 2019 we’ve kept our HR team super busy with a huge recruitment drive, employing ten new team members in the last 6 months.
We’ve welcomed new talent to our venues, incentives, events, creative and central services departments and now employ an impressive 58 employees across our three regional offices in London, Manchester and head office in the Midlands.
LANDING UP NORTH.
This year we opened our Manchester Office, a massive milestone to reach as a company and one of our best bits of 2019.
The space is our third UK location, joining our regional office in London and headquarters in the Midlands and since April has allow us to gain faster access to our northern based clients, which include DFS, wilko, Experian and Home Instead. We’ve also recently recruited a new member to the Manchester team, Beccy, who is helping with our growing client base and supporting Client Services Director, Marc Hazelden.

In 2019, Top Banana have been busy celebrating our milestone birthday of 20 years and wow what 20 years it has been.
#THEGIFTOFGIVING
This Christmas we thought long and hard about what we could do for our Christmas campaign, with so many creative heads coming up with ideas we really could have gone all out. But this year, we stripped the message and the creative right back and all agreed on the #thegiftofgiving.
Our aim? To encourage our employees and clients to fill empty boxes with food donations and take it to their local foodbank, which we provided instructions for. At Top Banana alone, we donated over 300kg of food to the Kidderminster Foodbank, collected over 2 weeks by all of our employees. Our clients have been fantastic and are also on board, more so than we could ever have hoped for!
It may just start as an empty box, but as everyone works together to fill them, these boxes will help feed hundreds of people this Christmas. To follow our campaign, check out our hashtag on social media #thegiftofgiving.
